Penn Chemistry: NMR Facility

NMR Facility

The NMR Facility consists of ten Bruker spectrometers ranging in field strength from 7 to 14.1 Tesla (300-600 MHz). We have six 500 MHz spectrometers configured for a wide range of nuclei with consoles varying from DRX, AVII to AVIII and from two to four channels. 500 MHz probes include Cold (cryogenic) 5mm DCH probe optimized highest 13C sensitivity, and a variety of direct and inverse detection two and three channel probes. Lower field spectrometers consist of a DMX 300 and an AVIII 400 with two-channel consoles and a NEO 400 with a three-channel console. Probes for lower field spectrometers are 5 mm 300 MHz QNP (four nuclei) or 5mm auto tuning 400 MHz BBFO, or 5mm auto tuning 400 MHz IProbe, or 5mm auto tuning 400 MHz TBI probes .The highest field instrument is the 600 MHz 3-channel NEO console configured with a cryogenic Prodigy 5 mm auto-tuning BBO probe (coming soon), and 5mm auto-tuning TXI or 3mm auto-tuning TXI probes. The SampleCase on the NEO400 and NEO 600 allows automation.

The NMR Facility is staffed by Dr. Jun Gu (Director, NMR Facility)
