Jeff Saven Promoted to Professor

Jeffery Saven has been promoted to the rank of Professor. Jeff's group uses primarily theory and computation to study biomolecules, polymers, and condensed phase systems. Most of the research involves the application of statistical mechanics to liquids and macromolecules. Jeff joined the Chemistry Department in 1997.

The annual award, sponsored by Sabin Metal Corporation, was established to recognize and encourage outstanding work by a graduate student in precious metals research.

A number of exceptional Chemistry graduate and undergraduate students were honored at the Department's annual awards ceremony on April 30. The highest honor that the Chemistry Department bestows on a graduating PhD student is the John G. Miller Award. This year's award went to Jacob Goldberg of the Petersson group.
